Authentication for the server

On this screen you enter authentication information for the wireless network's authentication server. The network printer will use this information to verify that it is talking to the right server.

The Server ID is the name of the authentication server.

By default, the server authentication is based on the rightmost portion of the Server ID. If you wish to require an exact match of the entire Server ID, check the box marked Require exact match.

To install the server's certificate information on the network printer, click Configure. This will take you to the print server's embedded web server; follow the instructions to install the certificate.

For Encryption Strength select Low, Medium, or High -- whichever is used by your authentication server for authentication transactions on your network.

A digital certificate is an electronic means of proving the identity of a network user or device. Certificates contain detailed information about the server in a standard format. They are typically issued by a trusted third-party Certificate Authority (CA), but can also be locally administered, or "self-signed".
